The European Documentation Centre of the University of Pisa Contributes to the Organisation of the Event “What are EU doing? – Young People’s Questions to Members of the European Parliament”
On 15 May 2026, a delegation of students from the University of Pisa, representing the Departments of Law and Political Science, took part in the event “What are EU doing? – Young People’s Questions to Members of the European Parliament”, held at the Rectorate of the University of Siena. The initiative was jointly organised by the Tuscan universities, the Europe Direct Centres and the Network of European Documentation Centres (EDC) of Tuscany.
The event provided students with a valuable opportunity to engage directly with Members of the European Parliament on key issues concerning the future of the European Union, European policies and the role of young people in shaping the European public debate. The discussion involved representatives of the main political groups in the European Parliament and encouraged an open exchange of views between students and EU decision-makers.
The European Documentation Centre of the University of Pisa contributed to the organisation of the initiative and accompanied the University of Pisa delegation, composed of students enrolled in the Master’s Degree programmes in Law, Law, Innovation for Business and Public Administration, and European Union, Global Processes and Sustainable Development. Several students actively participated in the debate by putting forward questions and reflections on current European challenges.
The initiative highlighted the importance of fostering dialogue between European institutions and younger generations, encouraging informed participation, critical thinking and active European citizenship.

TECNOLOGIE SPAZIALI, SICUREZZA E TRASPORTO MARITTIMO: SFIDE NEL CONTESTO INTERNAZIONALE E DELL’UE
Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., at the University Hub for Logistics Systems, Villa Letizia, Via dei Pensieri 60, Livorno, the main current issues related to the most recent technological developments in the space sector and in maritime transport will be discussed. In both contexts, the need to ensure safety—including environmental safety—will be highlighted, with particular attention to the role played by International law and European Union law.
The seminar is organized by Prof. Claudia Cinelli (holder of the Jean Monnet Module EUSPIL) and Prof. Luigimaria Riccardi of the Department of Political Sciences at the University of Pisa, in collaboration with the EDC of Pisa, as well as with the Municipality of Livorno, the Livorno Foundation, and the Port System Authority of the Northern Tyrrhenian Sea.
Participation is open to the general public.

Monday, November 3rd, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., in Room IV of the Palazzo della Sapienza, a seminar will be held to provide an in-depth analysis of certain private international law issues that arise when notarial deeds are executed by foreigners present in Italy.
The speaker will be Dr. Simone Anzellotti, Notary of the Notarial College of Pisa.
The seminar, linked to the activities of the Jean Monnet Module MAC-EUPACT, is organized within the framework of the Private International and Procedural Law course taught by Professor Simone Marinai, in collaboration with the European Documentation Centre of the University of Pisa.
