Expert Hearing before the Italian Senate on the Implementation of the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum
On 25 June 2026, Prof. Simone Marinai, Coordinator of the Jean Monnet Module MAC-EUPACT, took part in an expert hearing before the Joint Committees on Constitutional Affairs and Justice of the Italian Senate.
The hearing was held during the parliamentary examination of the bill converting Decree-Law No. 100/2026 into law. The Decree-Law introduces the first set of national measures implementing the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum.
During the hearing, Professor Marinai discussed the main legal issues arising from the implementation of the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum through Decree-Law No. 100/2026, contributing to the parliamentary debate on its conversion into law.
The hearing represents a significant dissemination activity of the Jean Monnet Module MAC-EUPACT, fostering dialogue between academic research and public institutions on the implementation of the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum.

The Commission proposed the Union Resettlement and Humanitarian Admission Plan for 2026-2027. Based on voluntary contributions from Member States, the Plan outlines the resettlements and humanitarian admissions over the next two years, focusing on the main migratory routes.
